FAQS
The Summit™ All-In-One Trainer with Athena™ is the home gym system for lifters who want full-scale workout versatility without committing to a massive setup. Until now, combining a cable machine attachment with a Smith machine required a 6-post rack — bigger, pricier, and often unrealistic for small home gyms. This new 4-post all-in-one home gym machine changes the game. By introducing a purpose-engineered 26" crossmember, we’ve created the smallest possible fitness footprint that allows a side-mount functional trainer and Smith machine to coexist on a 4-post rack. It delivers the power and capability of a full strength-training system in a space-conscious package, giving you big-gym, full-body functionality in the room you actually have.
To make this compact exercise equipment possible, we optimized every detail. The new 26" crossmember preserves compatibility with existing Athena™ bracketry, avoids costly redesigns, and ensures proper geometry for smooth, vertical Smith operation. Mini front foot extensions are required to maintain rack stability, and users should expect intentional tradeoffs such as a vertical-only Smith orientation and limited incline bench clearance with Nighthawk™ or BlackWing™ benches. But these choices are what unlock the most efficient, fully integrated Athena™ and Smith available. The result is a smart, streamlined, performance-driven solution for lifters who refuse to compromise on capability — or space.

All-In-One Trainer
The Summit™ All-In-One Trainer with Athena™ brings together REP's top-end attachments — Athena™, Smith machine, and premium rack features — into one high-functioning rack. -

Compact
By integrating the Smith machine and Athena™ on the same optimized 26" crossmember, this strength setup delivers the most compact all-in-one configuration possible. It provides the functionality of a functional trainer in a low-profile rack attachment, without the bulk of a freestanding unit or an Ares™. You get big-gym capability in a small, space-saving package. -

Unmatched Functionality
Every attachment performs to its max. From smooth, precise cable operation on the Athena™ to the vertically-oriented Smith machine, the entire system is engineered to work seamlessly in a tighter footprint while still delivering the premium feel you expect from REP exercise equipment. -

Ecosystem
This setup is built to grow with you. Thanks to REP’s cohesive and ever-expanding attachment ecosystem, you can easily add storage, expand functionality, and customize your rack over time — ensuring your training evolves with your goals. -

Athena™
The Athena™ side-mount functional trainer is REP's most budget-friendly functional trainer attachment. It features a patent-pending trolley system that allows cable work at any height on the upright. The 2:1 cable ration means the 170lb selectorized weight stack feels like 85lb per side. Integrated band pegs allow you to add up to 540lb of band resistance, while the 180-degree swivel front pulleys and high-quality cables support exercises both inside and outside the rack. -

Smith Machine
The Smith machine rack attachment works on a true 0-degree path, moving straight up and down to provide vertical guided stability through a full range of motion — from floor work to overhead presses. Premium bearings and composite-lined bar hooks ensure durability and a smooth performance with minimal friction. The 15kg bar comes with your choice of knurling and can be loaded up to 450 lbs. Compatible with upcoming attachments, so your training setup can continue to evolve.

- Smaller benches like the Nighthawk™ typically allow incline up to 30 degrees for most users.
- Larger benches such as the BlackWing™ may feel tight at most incline angles.
- At steeper angles (above 45 degrees), flipping the bench around may improve positioning and enable incline pressing on all benches.
The Summit™ All-In-One Trainer is a pre-configured 4-post rack that utilizes REP’s 26” crossmember along with PR-5000 attachments such as Ares™ 2.0, Athena™, and the Smith Machine. It integrates a cable system, Smith machine, and half rack into one compact 4-Post footprint.
No. The 30” crossmember has different hole spacing, which affects Ares™ 2.0 pulley bracket placement and Athena weight stack alignment. The 26” crossmember was specifically engineered to maintain proper cable geometry while supporting the Smith machine in conjunction to the Ares™ 2.0 or Athena™ cable systems.
26” crossmember was engineered to enable the most compact 4-post rack configuration that integrates Ares™ 2.0 or Athena™ with a Smith machine.
No. They are only available as part of a Summit™ All-In-One Trainer or through an official conversion kit.
No, they are not compatible with Ares™ 1.0.
No. The 26” crossmember is designed specifically for 4-post configurations that integrate a Smith machine and cable system. A 6-post configuration would require a new cable length that is not currently available.
Ares™ 2.0: We recommend both front and rear mini FFEs for optimal stability.
Athena™: Front Mini FFEs are recommended when free-standing.
Wall-Mounted or Bolted down: Not needed.
No. These 26” crossmembers are intended for 4-post half rack setups, so additional strap or flip-down safeties are not planned. For the Summit™ All-In-One Trainer’s, spotter arms are included.
No. A wall-mounted Athena is not currently available with the 26” crossmember.
No. The 26” crossmember is designed for vertical Smith machine use only.
It depends on your exact set-up, your bench and desired angle for incline pressing. For set-ups using the Athena™, the only limiting factor will be the wall, so if you need more room, you can pull your rack away from the wall. For the Ares™ 2.0, the limitation will be the footplate, which prevents the bench from going back further. You can always remove the footplate to get more depth. Based on our testing:
This is one of the tradeoffs of a compact footprint.
Yes. Both selectorized and plate-loaded Lat/Low Row attachments are compatible. The in-rack RBS will be required and sold separately.
Yes. Only the selectorized Athena™ configuration is available for Summit™ All-In-One Trainers.
Refer to the official Smith Machine configuration guide. The Smith bracket should be positioned over holes 3 and 4.
It can be installed either direction, but we recommend positioning the hooks toward the front of the rack to maximize usable space.
Yes. Elbow brackets are required to integrate in-rack storage with Athena™ setups.
When plates are loaded onto the Smith machine, ensure the cable trolley handles are positioned above or below the Smith’s working range to prevent interference.
Yes. This allows the handles to sit on the inside of the rack, reducing interference with Smith plates. This is possible on Athena™ only and not on Ares™ 2.0.
The Colorado Barbell knurl offers a medium aggressive and grippy knurling that works well for all exercises and won't tear up your hands. The Black Diamond knurl is slightly more aggressive and is best suited for individuals that prefer a little more grip. Both options are inspired by REPs premium barbells, but are specifically optimized for use on the Smith machine. They both offer dual knurl markings (IWF / IPF) and a center knurl, making this Smith machine suitable for all exercises.
The Smith machine is rated for 450 lb max loading. The bar weight is approximately 15kg. It has a larger diameter of 35mm versus a standard barbell that has a diameter of 28-29mm. REP engineering chose to use a 35mm bar diameter to allow for the bar to be both strong and lightweight. With a 15KG start weight and 450LB weight capacity, a standard solid barbell would have been way too heavy. With a larger diameter, REP is able to achieve both a lighter start weight and the strength needed for a high-performance Smith machine. There is no counterbalance. REP has worked to lighten the bar enough so that a counterbalance was not needed and would only increase complexity and price of the product.
Compared to a standard barbell, the 35mm shaft diameter may been like it may be hard to grip. For the majority of exercises that involve pressing or the barbell resting our your back, the larger diameter actually feels better, as it helps spread the load out and lessens the pressure. For pulling movements, due to the larger diameter, the barbell will be slightly harder to hold onto than a standard barbell. However, for most Smith machine exercises, we don't think most people will have issues.
